APPSC has issued recruitment notification for filling up of 95 Assistant Statistical Officer posts in AP Economic and Statistical Subordinate Service.

The APPSC has invited online applications from the eligible candidates who have the qualification of a Bachelor's Degree with Statistics as one the paper for the 95 posts of Assistant Statistical Officer.

All the candidates have to fill and submit the application on or before 28.01.2017.
The Hall ticket can be downloaded 7 days before for appearing the examination.

Assistant Statistical Officer

  • Zone-I: Visakhapatnam, Vizianagaram, Srikakulam is having 24 posts
  • Zone-II: East Godavari, West Godavari, Krishna is having 23 posts
  • Zone-III: Guntur, Nellore, Prakasam is having 16 posts.
  • Zone-IV: Kadapa, Kurnool, Ananthapur, Chittoor is having 32 posts

Age should be between 18 years to 42 years. 
The age relaxation is available in the notification.

Application process fee is Rs. 250 and Rs.80 for Examination fee.
The examination fee is relaxable for the categories like OBC/SC?ST/PH/Ex-servicemen/Unemployment Youth/ White Ration Card Holder.

A bachelor's Degree with one of the subject as Statistics (OR)
A bachelor's Degree with Mathematics as on the subject statistics paper 1 year or 2 years (OR)
A bachelor's Degree with Economics as on the subject statistics paper 1 year or 2 years (OR)
A bachelor's Degree with Commerce as on the subject statistics paper 1 year or 2 years (OR)
A bachelor's Degree in Computer Science as on the subject statistics paper 1 year or 2 years from a recognised university.


The examination might be conducted in two types.
  1. Screening Test.
  2. Main examination.

Screening Test: 

If the application received by the APPSC is more than 25 thousand, then the Commissioner will conduct screening test.

Main examination: 

The qualified merit candidate is eligible for the objective type computer (On-line) based examination. Finally, the merit candidate will get the post.

Screening test: 150 marks for 150 questions.
Main examination:300 marks for 300 questions.
150 questions in Mental ability and General studies
150 questions in the subject studied in Degree (Mathematics, Statistics, Commerce, Economics, Computer Science).
NOTE: For each wrong answer 1/3rd marks will be deducted for the particular question.

How to submit an online application for the Asst. Statistical Officer posts through APPSC?

  • Applicant has to visit APPSC website for online submission.
  • Applicant should click on "Online Application submission " link.
  • Now click on "Make Payment " option.
  • This will lead to the Payment section page.
  • The candidate has to fill all the basic details. The following is the screen shot for the payment page.

  1. After filling the details, click on proceed to payment button.
  2. Now pay the fee according to your option like credit card/debit card/ online payment system.
  3. A Journal Number will be generated. Keep it for online application submission.
  4. Now click on online application submission by providing Journal Number, Date of payment and Date of Birth.
  5. Upload latest Photograph by setting the sizes and dimensions as shown in the application form.
  6. Declare the terms and conditions. 
  7. Now click on upload button and submit the application. An application ID will be generated keep it for further reference.

  • The online submission starts from 29.12.2016.
  • The last date for online submissions is 28.01.2017.
